Apps for the Arts

Apps for the Arts slashes the cost of developing your own iPhone app. This new scheme means that Arts organisations can now share the development cost of an app making it eminently affordable. Aimed at multi-venue arts events, festivals, biennials and international fairs — Apps for the Arts encourages a new approach to app development.

The scheme allows you to share the expensive back-end programming and development costs but the interface will look exactly how you want it to look, reflecting your own identity and unique branding.

By combining spending power with other festivals and like minded institutions not only will you reduce your overheads, the app you will also give you the ability to gather and produce your own sophisticated statistics and data. You will instantly be able to learn more about your organisation's visitor demographic.

The Concept

A custom arts festival app could cost upwards of £20,000 in today's market, making it out of reach for many grant funded festivals. Much of this cost, however, falls within the programming development and user testing stages.

To open up this market, Apps for the Arts has developed a framework that, together with its unique pricing structure, allows these costs to be shared.

It's simple: you keep your festival's brand, and your information, and we apply it to our design. The more institutions that take part, the more you and other members of your group benefit from this model, as the costs of design trials, user-testing and debugging are split with other members.

But there is more! Based on Google Analytics, back-end statistics will provide immediate access to a wealth of data about your visitors. This information will allow you to chart your successes and aid the development of your future marketing strategies!
